[Pete's at work, impatient ever since receiving his proton pack. He can't wait to take it over to Ray's so that he, Ray, and Egon can start discussing business. He figures if he makes one hard sell today on a used car, he can cut loose a little early. Maybe you're a coworker who's noticed him looking at the clock one too many times, or maybe you're looking to buy a car today...]

[Action- Around Town ]

[After work, Venkman picks up his proton pack from home and is heading for Ray's when he begins to wonder if the thing even works. He flips it on, pulls the wand out from its holster, and aims for a nearby tree. A bright beam is shot out, scorching the side of the tree and peppering the thing with small flames.]

...It's still in one piece? I'm good.


[Action- Ray's House/1127 Taylor Road ]

[He's knocking on the door rapidly.]

Let me in, Ray... before I'm arrested for arson!

[He looks off for a moment, as he's making a list in his head. Trying to piece his words together before he says them.]

Let's see. There's the proton pack, and the ghost trap... which is temporary containment for the beasts. Then we move them on to our storage facility. There's also the Ecto Goggles, the PKE meters... Hm. Oh, and the Slime-Blowers...

[Still following his explanations closely.] Goggles and a meter. Those are measurement devices for detection, I'd imagine? Do the ghosts you deal with ever gain enough form to be discernible by the naked eye? Do they ever become tangible enough to affect reality by themselves too, or would the need a host to influence and/or control first?

Aah, this whole concept just sounds somewhat familiar, so I am curious about the details! ...Am I asking too many questions?

Yes, our entire business is based on it. You hear a bump in the night, you call us. We extract the creature from your home... for a nominal fee, of course.

[He shakes his head and gives her his best smile.]

It's fine. Yes. Ray, Egon, and I founded the business.

A bump in the night? Aha, that sounds a bit like poltergeists. Are they common, like rats or something similar? [Because it's starting to seem that way...]

I don't think that I've met mister Egon yet, but it probably won't be very long before that happens. I'll look forward to it! Mm, Mayfield can be a very twisted place, but it's still good to know that you'll be around to support each other when you need it. I may not always be home when you come over, but you're welcome anytime, Peter. [She'll reflect it with a sincere one of her own.]

Hopefully they aren't difficult to capture. It'll definitely be bad if you're vastly outnumbered for the work that you have to do. Does that ever happen? Is there a limit to your Packs, too?

[It's Mayfield, sticking together is always a good thing, as long as the other guy isn't antagonistic by nature.]

I'm sure that it'll be fine, but thank you for your assurance. Maybe he just needs more time to adjust? It can be hard, during the first few months or so. The town does unpredictable things, but there are still patterns that it seems to follow.
